Class#6 A Freak of Nature – a plant/flower that is not as it should be

Brampton Horticultural Society Photo Contest Rules 2024

1. The Brampton Horticultural Society contest is open to all members of the Society.

2. Photos must have been taken by the entrants and should not have been previously submitted.

3. Entries are to be in colour.

4. All photos submitted should be 4” x 6” (including border if used) Cropping is permitted and encouraged.

5. Photographs should not be digitally altered, except for possible cropping, contrast, brightness, and hue changes.

6. Both matte and glossy prints are permitted.

7. Film and digital photos are accepted.

8. All photos will be judged on horticultural content.

9. A maximum of two [2] entries in each category may be entered.

10. Each entry must list the entrant’s name, phone number and class number on the back. Also indicate the top of the photo with an arrow.

11. The entries must be placed in an envelope marked “Brampton Horticultural Society Photo Contest” and given to the Contest Convener or a member of the executive prior to or at the March General Meeting. Please do not leave in an album.

12. Judging will be the responsibility of the Photographic Committee.

13. The judging decisions will be final.

14. All prize-winning photographs may be scanned. The images may be used for any use the Brampton Horticultural Society designates, but the photographers retain ownership of the photographs.

15. Entries will be on display at the June and September General Meetings. They will be returned at the October General Meeting.

16. Although care will be taken to avoid damaging the photographs, the Brampton Horticultural Society can assume no responsibility for possible deterioration resulting from mounting and displaying the entries.

17. The Wayne Winchester Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the Most Points winner.

18. The presentation of the award will take place at the Strawberry Social in June unless otherwise determined. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, plus a Certificate for Viewers Choice.
